Does anyone have a favorite gentle liquid fertilizer that can be used across many plants? What’s a good balance? I have everything from desert cacti and Thanksgiving cactus to prayer plants to wandering Jew to Ivy and pothos and philodendron. Thanks!

i’m a basic plant mom so i just use miracle grow liquid fertilizer all purpose, they also have ones for succulents specifically and flowering but i usually use the all purpose one for all my plants:) no issues yet and my plants are thriving (knocks on wood)

I’m a Miracle Gro user for too many years to count. I used a different fertilizer for plants that like acidic soil like roses, conifers, azaleas and tomatoes. 🪴

I’m currently using nielsons plant elixir and superthrive. So far my favorite! I’ve used miracle gro and espoma in the past, of those two I like miracle gro better. I’ve used miracle gro tropical and all purpose on all of my plants with no issues.

Thank you all so much! I do have the Miracle Grow liquid here, but wasn’t sure if it was a terrible idea to try to use it for everything :) I need simplicity in my life, haha.

I use Joyful Dirt and it’s been amazing! You can mix it with water, or sprinkle a little of it on the soil before watering.

Almost any brand of All purpose fertilizer will work. What you need to decide is if you want to go organic or use a non-organic product. Are you familiar with the analysis numbers on any fertilizer package? It's those three numbers that help you choose what's best for your plant. The first number is nitrogen the second number phosphorus in the third number is potassium. Very simplified nitrogen is for leaves phosphorus is for flowers and potassium is for roots. Organic fertilizers are generally weaker and need to be applied more frequently. Any 12-12-12 or 20-20-20 would be considered a reasonable all-purpose fertilizer.

I use Leafy Lux by Pretty in Green. It has calcium in it and I read about it being important for strength.
