Just getting into plants! Can’t wait to learn more these are the 5 I have right now, have a grow light coming Sunday or Monday. I also will have another pothos coming a nice neon one. Otherwise there’s 4 spider plants and the Cebu blue pothos. Any tips or advice to get them to grow and be able to produce babies and so I can propagate.

Great little pots, but they’re a bit oversized for your spider plants right now. I try not to size up more than about 1–2″ at a time. I’d recommend repotting into a smaller pot with good drainage. Too large of a pot will have the roots staying wet and eventually lead to root rot. Welcome to the club 🌿☺️

I strongly agree with Whit_Y. Those pots are way too big. As a newbie, I would also suggest using terracotta pots. They are porous and help avoid overwatering. You may need to water a little more often though. And my personal opinion on those wick self watering pots for very young plants is not to use them. I have not. Just seems logically they may not work. Hopefully others may have tried them and will have first hand knowledge.

Spider plants need the soil to dry out. They store a lot of water in their roots. They can go a few days after the soil dries before they need water again. Their leaves will droop a little when they need water. I agree with the comments that the pots are two big. A 3” or 4” pot with soil containing lots of perlite for drainage is more appropriate to avoid too much wet soil that the little plant can’t use up all the water before dying from root rot. Spider plants don’t like sitting in water. Self watering pots can be tricky. You need to know the amount of water to put in the reservoir. Need to know how long to let the water wick into the soil. Need to know when to drain the excess water from the reservoir to avoid root rot. I would use a sacrificial plant to help gain experience with self watering pots. 🪴🍀

Omg I looooove my spider plants she’s been thriving for three almost four years now! I’m no plant expert by any means but if you plan starts to look little pale and wilty I would water it! That’s sort of how I took care of her until I got this app and she’s been doing great (I just got this app a few months ago)
