Dark bathroom plant recommendations? The bathroom does have a wi dow but we have a film on the window to keep the neighbors from getting a free view if you know what I mean….. Any recommendations for a low light plant that looks good as a hanging plant?

You could also switch your light bulbs to grow light bulbs so you would have more options. I have a maranta in the bathroom with a grow light and windows and it’s doing great!

pothos are pretty good about poor conditions. remember that most plants who can survive in low light do only that; they just survive. there's virtually zero plants that can actually thrive in low light. you can put one in there but expect growth to be rather slow and leggy

I also have raven zz, a large snake plant, 2 frydeks, a mini monstera, several dragon trees, a birds nest and aligator fern, a sygornium, and a fatsia japonica amoung several small others in my bathroom. I have one small west window that is partially blocked by the shed. So the vast majority of light is the 3 headed tripod grow light i got from sansi that i can adjust direction and strength. If you can add at least 1 grow light it should help. You just have to be real about expectations in those conditions. I highly recommend pothos, zz, snake, and the japonica

I have a small orchid that I keep in the bathroom window, west facing zone 9b. Every year I trim its roots to keep it small enough to stay in the same pot that the ledge can handle. The cold night air from the open window in the winter months makes it bloom every year. You could mount the orchid and hang it in that sense. Or you could do a pothos or philodendron vines. I have a Staghorn fern mounted and hanging in the bathroom too.

I'd recommend adding at least one grow light, but for minimal light, your best bet would be ferns or shade-tolerant orchids (look that up by species; there are thousands of orchid species with a wide variety of light needs.) For orchids, jewel orchids and terrestrials like paphiopedilums are the best in shade; in the wild they'd be at the rainforest floor and shaded by lots of other plants.

If the lighting is medium at minimum, I’d definitely recommend Aglaonema Beauty’s/Chinese Evergreens, they bring very colorful foliage in a sterile white bathroom!🪴
