I got this ponytail palm about two weeks ago and it just has NOT been doing good since I brought it home… Idk what’s wrong with it. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!🤞🏼

It looks overwatered
1 likeI just watered it yesterday, the soil was pretty dry when I did water it. 🧐 how often should I be watering it?

1 likeIt was reallyyyy cold outside, like 0 degrees, when I brought it home so I wonder if that’s what did it
1 likeI would believe the cold damaged it. There were several posts in December where plants got frostbite on the 10 minutes ride home. They wilt almost immediately. Palm fronds will dry and eventually fall off. You can cut the dead parts. Check the roots for rot. Frozen roots will turn to mush and attract insects like mealybugs and fungus gnats. Remove all dead roots. Rinse roots with hydrogen peroxide to kill bacteria. Let the soil dry between watering. Keep in bright light. Fertilize with diluted fertilizer once a month in colder months. Good luck🍀🪴

palms are also notorious for spider mites, which might also be causing the discoloration of the leaves. look carefully and see if you see any webbing.
