It’ll be ok! Most molds aren’t too harmful but you should still probably repot into new soil. Get rid of the moldy soil (preferably outside so you don’t inhale spores) and then rinse the roots and stem with water until there isn’t any more soil. I would also recommend cleaning the roots & stems with hydrogen peroxide spray (there are great YouTube videos that show this whole process!) before repotting into fresh soil. My crotons are all in a custom soil that is potting mix, extra perlite, and a little bit of compost. If your soil is muddy and not drying out well, it can grow mold or fungus or all sorts of gross stuff 🥲 it’ll be ok! Your plant looks really happy otherwise

Thank you! I just pulled off the mold. I should also replace the soil it sounds like?
1 LikeTotally up to you!!! In my experience (a soggy prayer plant) if it happened in that soil/ those conditions… it’ll probably happen again unless you change to a clean environment for the plant. Dump out the soil outside, put the plant on some towels so you don’t get everything dirty, and clean the pot like you’re washing a bowl or a plate with dish soap. Rinse it super good and then repot with new soil 🥰 You can always wait and see how it does without the big mold first and if it’s not growing back and the plant looks happy then nah, you don’t have to repot 🪴 I’m just a stranger on the internet, you know your individual plants best :)

You're a stranger on the internet who has experienced this 😜 I haven't so I'm comfortable considering your experience. Thanks so much!!
