i got this aglaonema valentine a few weeks ago and the soil seems overly dry to me. I'm not sure what type of soil it is but it has some bits of rocks in it. The soil all around the pot just seems super dry no matter if i water the plant. Is it normal? Anyone has advice on what to do?

FYI I think this might be your plant. As for the soil, for plants that get overly dry I will water from the top with the plant in a cup, and let it sit in the drained water for a few minutes so it can also soak from the bottom.

These are my Polka Dots. I concur with FriendofVeg above 👆🏼 that you might not have a Chinese Evergreen there.

lovely look plant! nah i enquire how you have been watering it? With many plants the best thing to do is water with non-tap water until water drops out the bottom from multiple sides. It may not be a watering issue though- sometimes soil just likes to do that 🫨😄
