“Yes this is off my Pinterest board…” Hi guys! I just ordered this plant and I have no freaking clue in the WORLD how to take care of it. If anyone could give me some pointers I’d love you for it! Truly truly wanna keep her alive and YouTube hasn’t giving me much help on how to do that, so i thought I’d turn to the experts cause y’all have saved so many of my plants! Thank you guys for anything you can tell me!🫶

I’ve never had a plant with a caudex like that but I heard light watering in succulent/cactus soil. They do not like to be wet. Also heard not to let the caudex get soaked. Bright indirect light.

This looks like a very cool plant. Since I know little about this particular type of plant, I did some looking around and I think you will find this site particularly helpful. It's very thorough about how to care for and what to expect. Depending on where the plants are coming from, it may and probably will come to you in a dormant state. Dormancy is triggered by temperature and day length so you may have to leave it in a dormant state until spring. The rest you can read at the site. ... Planta would not let me copy the link so if you do a search for "our house plants" and look for an article entitled "Stephanie erecta: growing guide care tips and problem guide". Hopefully it will come up for you..

These guys are HARD to get leaves. It's hard to replicate their environment and r typically poached(stephania erecta specifically). Didn't realize till after I ordered one.. when u get it, or around spring, soak in water to wake it up for a day, plant it like in the pictures. Often times u will have an issue where u won't get any leaves but a long vine, troubleshooting would be putting in a plastic bag like a humidity dome. They are SO resilient but hard to flourish. But yes they don't like to be overwatered, just LOVE humidity. I have mine in sand, which means I need to water more but yes treat it like a high humidity succulent.

Oh no this plant is gonna be the death of me lol but no thank you so much for the tips I’ll definitely be doing that. I’ve never had one so I’m kinda worried so literally thank you so much for filling me in! Does yours do good in the sand do you think I should buy some?

I don't think it has to be, depends how often ud want to water. Pebbles and cactus soil also is okay. Or whatever u have on hand that wont give them wet feet. To start, yes it's best to water a bit more with the initial soak. U can always experiment with what works best for u. They are v hard to kill and even if u break off the vine it will always create another. If ud prefer a mix with sand, u can definitely try it. It's just what mine came with as a starter.

Mine are in the graveyard. They lasted about 3 months. They soaked about a month before putting out vines that quickly grew. I moved them from the water to a cactus/succulent mix and they went down hill. I’m not sure why since I never grew these before. I also noticed the leaves were heart shaped instead of circular. I think I got a different variety.
