Help!! My sister brought this Aloe plant over. I’m new to the plant world and am not sure how to save this. Does anyone have any advice? I’m sure I need to repot, but how do I separate the live part from the dead part? Is it ok to cut them apart?

It’s definitely savable! I would start by looking at the plant’s roots and seeing what’s happening down there. The parts of the plant that are dead should be okay to chop. The plants that are connected to dead parts should be okay to separate as well.
1 j'aimeI’m going to attempt that right now. Thank you!!

0 J'aimeVining or Climbing Aloe? Not as upright and stiff as true aloe Vera that grows in a rosette; vining aloe is more eyelash like. I rescued one this year that looked similar. Although, yours looks far more mature than mine. When I repotted this spring it was fairly easy to separate the dead bits from the living; the dead material sort of peels away. I chose a shallow terracotta pot, and chunky succulent soil (I love Ivy May). It has a ton of new growth! Check out the babies:
3 J'aimeWow!! That’s awesome!! I separated all of the pieces and got quite a few babies! I’m crossing my fingers they all survive!!
1 j'aimeSome will, maybe not all. I think I lost some to adjustment. It will be worth your rescue! How does it look after clean up?
0 J'aimeYes, please post another photo someday.
