Hey everyone! this is a black locust i’ve been growing from a seed for the past 5 months. I went on a trip recently and came back to find this leaf with what looks like slight variegation? this leaf was closest to the window (west facing), I’d love to know if this was something caused by light or genuine variegation!

How cool!! It looks like some sport variegation! Sport variegation is spontaneous genetic mutation where a normally solid-green plant suddenly produces a leaf or branch with color variation. Sometimes it sticks around other times it will revert back to green

yep! it's a natural mutation, but when it occurs independently like this it's very unstable, the next one will probably be solid green again.
