This is my first Maranta. I have these two pots available. One is ceramic and one is plastic. I don’t care about the look but are these good options for this plant or should I get something else? Thank you

    I think the ceramic one is good, because looking at that plant it looks like it’s going to need a lot of space to stretch its roots, also the ceramic one would be great for reducing root rot from holding in so much water assuming your plant is one of those is easy to be overwatered.

      Thank you. I think I’m actually going to get a smaller pot.

    Both pots look too wide/deep. Measure them. The new pot should only be 1” or 2” wider than the original pot. A pot too big will keep excess soil around the roots. Excess soil holds excess water the plant can’t use. The excess water will rot the roots and eventually kill the plant.

      Thank you. I was actually leaning towards getting something else. That’s why I posted here. This app is awesome.
