Hey friends, I have a very large monstera that I neglected to repot over the summer because of its size, I’ll need someone to help. My question is, is it too late to repot now that it’s fall approaching winter? Should I trim it? This is the largest plant I’ve grown from its mother but I’m getting overwhelmed!

I feel it’s never too late to repot. That’s just my opinion. My Monty got so big he got put outside. I also live in California. If you want to trim it to make it smaller you can. Especially if it makes it more manageable for you.. Really leaves only get bigger from here.

Will a monstera thrive outside in California. I’ve been nervous to put mine outside. I live in Long Beach.

I live in Bay Area. Monty gets Morning sun only. From like 7am to 10am when the sun starts to turn. Frost Advisory Nights I cover all my plants outside. They do fine. He’s been outside almost a year.

Yes they would do great outside in most parts of California. I only just brought mine inside and the temperatures have been as low as 4°C at night.

Depends on where you live and if you’re using a grow light or not. I’m in the PNW and my plants all live under grow lights - so I repot whenever they need it.

Never too late to repot! Repot, let the plant adjust over winter, and when it’s back to growing season the monstera will be fully adjusted and will be back growing in no time. Hope this helps :)
