I had great luck watering exclusively with BTI mosquito bits tea for about 8 weeks. Their life cycle is 5 weeks so you have to keep it up longer than you might think. Along with that, I put sticky flags in all of my plants and avoided misting any plants to reduce the humidity at the soil level. It was a lot but it worked.

They are called fungus gnats. I also used mosquito bits. And the yellow sticky traps. And zevo plug in traps. And eventually I repotted the two plants that were infested. It was because I had one pot that was self watering and they were hatching in between there. It was so gross 🤮 they look like larvae crawling around. I think I killed them all now. But I still have those two plants quarantined for like two more months since then. The larvae eat the plants roots so after a while the plant will suffer.

1 mi piaceYou can use mosquito dunks when watering or… you could buy a bunch of microscopic worms online and allow the worms to feast on the gnats eggs and larvae

1 mi piaceLmao lemme know how those work! I just tried the nematodes out about a week ago. It takes time for them to establish and make a difference but man it feels slow
