Jaray

I’ve been propagating this pothos for about a month and Google says to wait until secondary roots form but I don’t know if they’re going to form.. is this ready to plant?

I’d plant now. If not at least get it out of that jar before the roots get bigger and you have a hard time getting it out through that small opening. Could possibly break a root.

Those guys might know better, but I wait until I have a bunch of roots. I have the little test tubes for getting them started but when they need more room, they do better in a big cup so if yours needs new more room, you might put it in a bigger container.

I would wait. Secondary and tertiary roots are extremely helpful for success, and it may be time of year for this plant to start slowing down on growth. I have kept mine (maybe too long) in water, but it’s living its best life right now and has new growth. I am planning to transition slowly to a soil mix from water too by using sphagnum moss to help the roots from being in a water medium to a solid medium. Not always necessary, but mine are finicky. Definitely agree too that you may want to move this guy to a wider mouthed container for when you do transition.
