do spider plants do better outside or inside?

In general, they do better outside in warmer temperatures, higher humidity and bright natural indirect sunlight. It depends on where you live. Subtropical or tropical areas outside are better than too dry and too hot/cold regions. It’s better to keep them inside in a plant cabinet with controlled humidity and temperature ranges if the outside environment is too harsh.

As a general rule all plants do better outside, in their natural environment. The trick for houseplants is to try and make them as comfortable as you can inside.

My spider plants outside are huge I’ve taken plenty of babies from them and I also have some indoor and I live in zone 10b and so far no problems. We get dry hot weather and cold winter, but they thrived through all of it. Its just how they acclimated to the weather. Hope this helps.

The app will only let me send one pic. But they both look the same anyway.

I have two HUGE spider plants that I keep inside from October until May then they go outside in a place with morning sun. I live in southern NH. These plants are 10+ years old and all started from one 6inch pot and I’ve given over 100 babies away. Hope this helps.

I posted a picture of my spider plant sorry took so long lol. But that’s two I had to split the second one and now need to repot to bigger pot, still waiting till the weather cools a little before the transition

Wow that’s an impressive spider plant. I guess I don’t understand your comment about “waiting till the weather cools a little” before you repot it??? Where do you live? Is it winter there now? It’s summer here in New Hampshire but spider plants can be repotted any time as long as it’s not too cold. I’ve never heard that it has to be cool to repot them. I sure have repotted mine in the heat of summer I just make sure not to put them in full sun. Hope this helps.

Really, well I guess my sister in law doesn’t know much lol. Thank you for the info. I live in central California where we get 3 digits in the summer. Next week we will have 100+ weather. And my spider plants stay outside no matter the weather and they have been fine.

And they are under my big tree so they’re not in full sun either.
