Hi everyone, my daughter in law sent me these photos of an orchid she was gifted. I’m after some help as to what she needs to do for this plant to grow please? Thank you

    When roots are silver give her a drink they will turn grean when hydrated, don't let her sit in water. Once accumulated to her home. A month or more I would repot in a clear pot for ease of viewing roots. For substrate I would use a orchid bark mix. They will rot if their crown stays wet I would bottom water to help prevent that.

    Those roots are wild!! I like an orchid pot that has lots of holes for the roots to grow through and get air. And only Orchid bark for the medium. I do a weekly orchid bath where I let them soak in the sink for 20 mins. I've had this one for 3 years

    WOW what a gorgeous orchid! they can take a year just to make one new leaf, this beauty is old. silver roots = thirsty, needs a drink. also needs repotting, looks like this orchid could use an 8in pot, not a 4in one. no soil! non-soil mediums only, orchid bark works best for most people. they grow on trees in the wild, their roots aren't made for dirt. such a beautiful orchid! the blooms will be huge on this thing!!

    So I’m assuming if it has brown dried roots those are dead and should be cut off?
