Lo

When you use humidifiers, can you give me an idea of how long you keep them on and how close they are to your plants? I know it depends on literally everything but looking for some guidance to start. Thanks!

In general it's 1-3ft from the plants I want it to mainly effect. My Dreo has % settings. So I just set it to , say 70%, warm or cool and it cycles on and off as needed. If you don't have one that has settings you could get a Govee hydrogemeter. It has a phone app, and you can set it to alert you when the humidity or temp go under or over your setting. So you can know to turn the humidifier on or off

      I have a (probably dumb) question… Is a diffuser like a humidifier?

A diffuser won't put enough moisture into the air. They usually have pretty small tanks. And just don't have the output to make an impact. To give you an idea, My Dreo will go through a gallon of Distilled water in a 10hr period, keeping the living room at 70% humidity (normal humidity at around 55%) If you had one in say a cabinet, it may push out enough to help a bit though

Yes it’s pretty small and only lasts a couple of hours. But I use it anyway so thought I would set it by the plants and see what happened 🤷🏻‍♀️. I also have a larger Vicks brand that is in my bathroom and has much better output. Not sure if it will hurt, help, or make any difference, so I’m eager to try!

Any output near a plant will act like a misting at least. And really if your humidity is low, anything is a plus

I have mine on 24/7 but it adjusts automatically based on the rooms current humidity. I have one for the whole room so it anywhere from right next the plant to ~10 feet away

I was turning mine off at night but may be rethinking that idea because this morning house humidity was at 35%. So I feel that you need the hygrometer because every house is different. I aim for 55%. I have two small humidifiers running as needed. Got really great price on Amazon restock area.
