What do all of these things in America have in common? - Healthcare is so complicated - Taxes are so complicated - Fixing cars these days is so complicated - Voting is so complicated Give up? One more clue then. - Matching a plant that I purchased to a plant database is so complicated. Give up? Ok the answer is…. Humans have made things complicated on purpose in order to get more money and not to help others. I type in Heartleaf Brunner and I am presented with Siberia Bugloss ‘Variegata’ I use scan the plant feature and I am presented with Great forget-me-not ‘Jack Frost’ HomeDepot is selling “Heartleaf Brunner” which is not in any database as Heartleaf Brunner but instead is sometimes added to existing database records as a synonym or A.K.A. (Also Known As) Humans. Please stop making up names. Just use Brunnera Macrophylla and no Heartleaf Brunner. I’m hoping someone from Bell Nursery and/or HomeDepot see this Did you know that great medical teaching institutions do not allow residents, who want to become doctors, to use the brand names of drugs that us consumers use. When reviewing and assisting to place drug orders they have to use the generic name, or scientific name, of the drug. Different unique names are presented to us as patients, or us plant lovers, only to grab profit. No other benefit than taking our money. And I fell for it.

I’m not familiar with this particular plant. But that kind of thing does annoy me. Especially in stores like Home Depot, the unique names are sometimes because the vendor greenhouse has patented the cultivar 🙄 What a crazy world we live in that you can own a whole cultivar and theoretically sue others who propagate the patented plant for profit

Nothing but the botanical name matters anyway.
