When I moved into my new place I got an Aglaonema from Easyplant. Seems like it was an expensive mistake. The thing just constantly gave me gnats because the self watering system keeps the soil sooo wet it was basically mud. I finally decided to repot it today and I had to downsize the pot 3 inches because the plants roots werent full enough for the pot they put it in. But good news, it’s flowering AND pushing out a new shoot!!🤭At least the overwatering didn’t kill it.

Self-watering systems seem to be a bad design for most plants.

And your soil is now full of eggs. Repot in fresh soil and use a regular pot with adequate drainage. Also check that your soil doesn’t come pre-populated with gnats. I had this problem with organic soil that was sold everywhere.

I fully changed the soil and threw away the old soil! The pic is the fresh soil😊

I had gnats a while back. I used gnat death drops and that took care of them.

Don’t throw away the soil. Use boiling water several times to sanitize it. let dry in the sun, add lava, perlite chunks, or charcoal before next use and a bit of compost. Soil is expensive!
