Trying to save this elephant bush ! Any help, tips or tricks are GREATLY appreciated! I’ve had it for a couple months now and it’s hard to tell if there’s any new growth.

They need a lot of light.Mine do really well outside… In Arizona. if you can give it a dedicated grow light/lamp, or place it in an extremely sunny window/porch. I think that would really help. They also don’t like a lot of water, so water only when he is thoroughly dry.

Thank you! I’ve been wanting to add another grow light so I’ll give that a try! Unfortunately, it’s not very sunny or warm on the east coast right now lol

Yeah, my neighbor has a big bush. It’s just thriving in the sun.

I would suggest checking soil type and drainage. I bought an elephant bush from home depot, and it died after 1-2 months. I’m new to not killing plants and had not yet gotten into repotting at the time, and foolishly assumed they would only sell plants in appropriate soil. Which was a big mistake! The soil was too dense and it had been staying soggy and not draining well and my roots rooted and the stems went soft. Lesson learned for me! Good luck 😊

I learned the hard way that soil at the nursery’s location suffers in my humid climate. I got three ferns from an Oregon nursery that had soil holding more water than minced sponge! The 4 inch pots took forever to dry down and felt very heavy after watering.
