What kind of plant is this? My grandmother gave it to me and want to know the type of plant it is so I can determine the best way to care for it. Also it has spider mites.. so any tips would be great

It’s a croton! Very pretty, we have an office croton that’s super big, and I just bought a teeny tiny mammy croton for my house.
2 LikesYes! Crotons are so pretty!! It is prone to spider mites so be sure to mist it or use a humidifier (mites appear in dry environments).
2 LikesTo get rid of the spider mites take the plant outside and spray off leaves really good with water or in your sink, change the potting soil, then check and clean every leaf front and back with 70% alcohol with a cotton ball, then spray plant really good with neem oil. Keep this plant isolated from all other plants then keep treating the plant with neem oil every 7 days. Make sure all is gone before integrating this plant back with your others
1 LikeThank you so much!!! Will the bare areas of the plant recover?
0 LikesOk now spray it down like crazy with neem oil
1 LikeMake sure you still wipe off each leaf front and back with 70% alcohol
