So we’re on a weekend getaway & just finished dinner- When the owner of the restaurant noticed me admiring their giant Polka Dot Begonia & offered me a cutting… Which of course I accepted! 😊 He stated it’s been in family for over 100 years!!!! (I didn’t get a photo of the parent Polka Dot- I was so excited that he offered me a cutting!!!)

Should I put cuttings in water or immediately in soil?

I root mine in rain water, in a clear glass vase, set in front of a morning sun window. It takes a bit for roots to grow but they will! ❤️

Spent today learning how to propagate, I have a batch of chasta trees and pine trees I had to prune. While I was pruning, I Decided to preserve the trees this winter and started putting them one node below soil, ground and water. Sounds simple , but takes a lot of care so far/water.

i recommend you let it callus if it hasn’t, and place in water until it roots.

Personally I’d put it directly into soil/potting mix. It also looks like have enough for 2-4 cuttings there. Might be a good idea so it’s not trying to support quite so many leaves without roots
