Hi I’m new to this app and plants in general, but I’m falling love! I figured this would be the best place to start- what would one recommend for a good beginner bathroom plant? Our bathroom has NO natural light, but a large counter and lots of hanging space, and outlets. Thank you in advance! 🖤💚

My bathroom doesn’t have hardly any light and I’ve had a snake plant thriving in there for 6+ months. 🤷🏻‍♀️🙌

I have had this app for 2+ years now and I was a beginner. I’ve learned a ton and this is a helpful community. Welcome! 🪴

The best advice I have for you is to use your best judgement (or better yet, get a moisture meter) when Planta says to water. It’s more of a suggestion than an absolute. Overwatering is, by far, the #1 reason for my plant fails.

Get a grow light for the bathroom. Sansi is a good-quality grow light

And they have a clip-on pot light that is ok for humid locations! A small philodendron like a heart leaf would probably be perfectly content in there with a pot clip light

Definitely get a grow light. Ferns and jewel orchids do well with high humidity and relatively low light

You should get one of those halo planter grow lights if you want the plant to do well. No plant is happy about no light, but there are some that sort of tolerate it. Those would be peace lily, spider plant (Chlorophytum), snake plant (Sansevieria), some Philodendrons and begonias.
