Hi everyone! I had a quick question I wanted to ask everyone. I have some cabinets in my kitchen that i’m thinking I may pop a trailing plant onto. I have the follow pothos varieties: golden, neon, jessenia, njoy, snow queen, marble queen, lemon meringue, manjula, and cebu blue. I also have philodendron brasil and the regular heart leaf philodendron. My plan is to use a supplemental clip on SANSI light as well for additional lighting. Thoughts and/or opinions greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

    Hi David, I had my heartleaf philodendron on top my kitchen cabinet trailing (it was well established), but evidently over time the weight of it broke every root away from the vine. It’s currently in recovery with a few remaining vines. I say all this as a heads up and that hopefully someone has tips on how to prevent this from happening. I was sure to lay the vines carefully so the weight wasn’t fully on them but it still happened. It was also under a grow light.

      Oh wow! Don’t think I have ever heard of that happening 😬 So the vine grew too long/heavy and started pulling apart from its roots?

      Yes. I went to repot it thinking it was root bound, but discovered there was only an inch or so of roots left intact. So I think if you can find a way to “drape” vs hang the vines for support they may be fine.

      It looked great! Ah, I will definitely have to think about that some then about draping it on something because it makes sense that all the weight of the vine would pull at the roots

    Love this! My mom has a heart leaf philodendron, flowing all around her kitchen on top of the cabinets like that from a small little 4 inch pot 🤣 it looks so cool and as it was growing, she looped it around some drop lighting to help give it some more stability as it grew around the kitchen.

      Would love to see a picture if you have any! After reading this heavily considering going the heartleaf philodendron route. There’s a certain lushness to them
