My first plant in my house. Need help! The soil feel dry after watering with 2 ice cubes Saturday. I feel like I should water it again but from what I’ve read on the money tree it should be 7-10 days between watering? Any advice for a beginner would be greatly appreciated! Don’t water with ice cubes. When you water you should get it thoroughly wet and let the excess water drain out properly. No plant in nature is watered with ice cubes

That makes complete sense after you put it that way, why would the tag say just add ice? It sounds like a hack on the tag lol

It’s the same attention to detail as all plants being labelled ‘assorted foliage’ lol

It can also be to do with that plants shouldn’t be watered with cold water. They are typically from a hot climate (i wish there was hot ice cubes but there’s not). I entirely ignore the tags the “big box stores” (Home Depot, Walmart, Lowe’s, etc) give me. They’re usually full of 💩.

i agree. when u water. do so w filtered or rain water bc tap has chemicals and let the water drain out from the bottom. so its thoroughly watered

So should I get this in a different pot and thoroughly water shortly?

yea i think so. the only pots that font have holes in it(that i use) are for bottom watering, hudroponics, and succulents

I would also remove the sphagnum moss that's on top of the soil. It's really only there esthetically.

It doesn’t need the moss on top for that type of plant so you can remove that ! Someone already noted not watering with ice cubes as well. You’ve got this!

Thanks! I’m going to pick up a different pot for it on my way home tonight
