I have these two monsteras, that have grown so much since I first bought them together in one pot. It’s not giving the monstera look that I was trying to achieve. So my question is do I propagate some more of the plant or stake/support it with something more sturdy? What should I do?? Im open to any comments or ideas
I would suggest getting them closer to a window if at all possible. They like lots of sun. And then you never get to see the leaves bc they face the window. I have my guy turned around just for the picture.
Oh wow what a beautiful plant! I did have mine facing the window before but was so upset that I couldn’t see the leaves.

They are getting very leggy because of low light. Rather than starting over with propagation, get them more light. A lot more. And find a good looking trellis, or a real moss pole. Not those cocoa things. Moss are a pain so I use good looking trellises. To avoid them turning towards the light, I have been using tall floor grow lights that are above the plant. They grow upwards and don’t turn sideways. And place them close together to hide the etoliated stems.
5개 좋아요My issue is that I have one large window in my room and a small one. I didn’t want to put them infront of the small window as it takes away too much sun from my other plants. And the smaller window is well just too small. I can try getting them closer to the window. Also what is the benefit of having them closer?!?

The benefit of them being closer to the window would be less etiolation (stretching) and better growth, including more fenestration. You might be able to accomplish the same with a large grow light for them, like Phil suggested.

I live in a small Manhattan studio and only one large window that gets good sunlight so I understand your pain. My indoor jungle is taking over. If you don’t have any natural sunlight options, invest in some excellent grow lights.
4개 좋아요Yes to the grow lights! I used to live in a north-facing, half-basement apartment. The grow lights got my plants through it 😅
