Hi, I really need some advice on palm care. I have a Majesty Palm that is struggling. I give it well drained soil, water it as directed by what i’ve come to learn about palms. I live in a humid area where palms grow outside without issue. However, the leaves are browning and i’m predicting its eventual death. Can anyone give me some advice or guidance? It wasn’t brown when I got it, and has since gotten worse than the picture on its profile. I’ve repotted it with homemade well drained soil mixed to what palms would prefer.

Well, many palms like it dry, and if it’s humid where you live I suspect overwatering. I would stop watering right now and wait for the soil to dry thoroughly before watering again, and when you restart, do it considerably less frequently. Palms are generally not thirsty plants and can stand considerable dryness.

I will try this with my palms also. Bc they both started browning since the summer started

i water mine everyday & never cut them or anything; i fertilize every two weeks & water everyday. for my palms; they seem to droop & turn brown when they aren’t watered. another thing would be you are watering the fronds & it’s like sun screen for them when watered while sun is on it. it’ll also turn the fronds brown. when you water only water the soil! & choose a setting; water in the morning; or water in the afternoon; get that palm on a schedule!
