My husband brought this home to me last week. I believe it’s from Dollar General. Are the brown roots rotten? Should I replant in a pot? Add water? There’s def some mushy leaves down near the stopper. Is this a case for hydrogen peroxide? I don’t want it to die!

I don't know about spots but you should fill the vessel up so roots are fully immersed. Remove any leaves that are touching the water. Also what's the black thing at the lip of vase?

Lastly, are you adding proper nutrients to the water & changing periodically? I use Prop Drops & SuperThrive directly into the water.

It’s like a foam stopper. I took them out rinsed them off really good. Added some water and fertilizer. I’ve never propagated anything yet so I’ll have to grab some prop drops. I covered the roots with water. Go me! Lol.

If the brown roots are hard/firm they’re healthy 👍🏻, squishy/soft would be rot, and you would definitely be able to tell easily. Be careful with over fertilizing in hydro plants. You can use regular fert and SEVERELY dilute it (I don’t recommend this). I would encourage you to invest in some water specific fertilizer if you plan to keep it like this long term. It will make life easier, and a little can go a very long way :) With my mature hydro plants I change out the water every 10-12 days (or sooner if its looking murky) and always add fertilizer.

I bought SuperThrive for this very reason.
