Attempting to get it together with my plant care, the app recommends liquid fertilizer: What do I use? Thank you!

You can buy solid fertilizer and mix it with water. Per the instructions on the bottle. Or get a premixed solution. I personally use Miracle Grow brand, but some people will buy organic fertilizer from the local garden center.

I use Espoma Organic Indoor; it's a concentrate that I'll mix at full or half strength depending on what plants I'm fertilizing

I’ve had a lot of success using superthrive foliage pro for my tropical plants. I use miracle grow succulent food for my succulents. 😁🪴

How often do you fertilize? Your plants are gorgeous!

Thank you, Yelle. 😁 I tend to fertilize with each watering. There are a few reasons and factors for me, 1) if the plant is continuously producing new growth and blooms, then I consistently fertilize to support photosynthesis, 2) my plants (tropical and succulents) grow throughout the year because I prioritize light for photosynthesis, I have all of my plants sitting on or by a window, so they get really good natural light, and during the winter, when there’s less light, I supplement with full spectrum grow lights where needed for continuous development. 3) if I observe slower growth or dormancy, then I pause the fertilizing. I haven’t had any issues of over-fertilizing with the fertilizers that I use because I follow the dosage instructions and dilute it in a gallon of water.

I actually use around 1/4 strength year round, every watering. Maybe a bit more in the summer. Most plants are good with this. If you have a plant more sensitive to mineral buildup, like jade, every 5-6 flush it. Just put it in the sink and run distilled water through the soil, let it run freely down the drain, no letting it sit in the water.so far, so good!

Happy Happy Houseplant is my go to. I like it because it's already at a strength that you can use for every watering so I don't have to remember what's been fertilized and what hasn't. And it lasts forever!
