Why is my philodendron so droopy? I’m following the schedule the app is giving me.

You’re probably over watering. The app schedule is far from perfect.

      When should I water it.

Let it dry out a little. Water when the top 1.5-2 inches of soil is dry.

Does the pot have drainage holes?

Hm. Looks like it gets good light. I’m afraid I’m stumped. Hopefully someone else will chime in with an idea. Good luck!

Are you checking deep enough in the soil? I usually stick 1/2 to 3/4 of my pointer finger, and if it feels dry but cold i wait still

Pull off the pot. Water if the soil and roots are dry throughout because it’s under watered. Let the soil dry out if the soil is wet because it’s overwatered. The soil will smell swampy and the roots will be mushy if the plant has root rot. The leaves are not showing signs of root rot. But, the rot (if any) must be cut out, the roots disinfected with hydrogen peroxide and the soil replaced if overwatering gets too much. I recommend using the app’s watering notifications only as a reminder to verify the plant needs water or you can quickly kill the plant. Environments, size, soil, water, lighting, etc., are different in each home. The app can’t perfectly predict when your specific plant needs water. Always check the soil for moisture. Check the leaves for a limp wrinkled look or yellowing/dryness. 🪴🍀

I agree! Mine does this when he needs a bit of water, that’s how he lets me know! Sunny I love your advice always😁

You could also try a moisture meter, its pretty inexpensive for a basic one if you wanna make it easier also

A lot of people say check 1-2” and make sure it’s dry before watering, but I’ll go even further than that on some plants to the point of almost fully dry. Also the app says “water until it starts draining” but I water to the point where I think it’s just about to start draining but nothing comes out and my plants are doing great.

I agree, let it dry out more before watering
