Been struggling with small flies that look like fruit flies laying eggs in my plants. Got sticky things to catch them but any helpful hints how to kill? Tried watering with 1/4 vinegar once.

Those sticky things, bottom watering until they’re all gone and these bad boys on Amazon works for me! On Amazon, look up: TERRO T2502 Ready-to-Use Indoor Fruit Fly Trap with Built in Window - 2 Traps + 90 day Lure Supply

Use mosquito dunks. They are mosquito repellent cakes in the shape of a donut. Put them in your watering can and make a “tea” for your plants. Leave it in for 5 -10 minutes then remove them and water your plants. It’ll kill the eggs and you won’t have any issues if you use them regularly. I use them every watering during spring and summer and cut back in winter. Depending on the size of your watering container you could break them in halves or fourths. You can buy them on Amazon. They also sell graduals called Mosquito bits, but you have to strain them out and it’s more of a hassle.
