Can someone please advise what I do to revive my spider plant? I grew it from propagating roots in water to planting it in tropical soil (the roots were about 1-2 inches when planted). But it seems it’s not doing well. I thought it was getting too much light so I put it in a corner of partial sun. Thought I wasn’t watering enough so I watered it but now I feel the soil might be retaining too much water? I was going to repot the soil with more perlite but wondering if I should put it back in water to let roots grow more since that’s how it seemed happiest?

keep it in the low light, change to a well draining plastic pot with soil and perlite (this can plop right inside of that blue pot you have :). then water it once, maybe even twice a week. the soil should remain a little moist, but never wet!! then leave it alone, it’ll perk up soon! i’ve done 3 this way and they’re all very happy. when they get older they don’t need to be watered as often. good luck!!

If that was mine I would take away the dead leaves, add more soil to the top and wait for it to get a little dry before watering. Mine hates low light and is in full sun. They do well in most light conditions!

Thanks for the advice! I repotted it, cut off the dead leaves, and put it in a smaller pot that might be more appropriate. 🙏🤞 Hope it’ll bounce back!
