Friendly reminder to clean your plants’ leaves!! Even our little plant babies need a shower from time to time, especially getting off all the dust that can attract pests 💚🌱🪴

My least favorite plant chore 🫡 good reminder!!!
4 J'aimeHaha I know! I recently got a new sink and the sprayer attachment is my bff for spraying down plants that are able to fit in the sink, saves lugging them all to the shower
0 J'aimeIs hosing them down enough to clean the dust off? Or should a rag be better? Also, will hosing affect the watering schedule? Or just make sure the water doesn’t make contact with the soil?
0 J'aimeI’d say it is, unless you’re doing a pest removal and then that would have to be more involved. I just wait till it needs to be watered and do all of it at once to not have to worry about the soil getting wet
1 j'aimeThat’s a smart idea 😉 and probably easier to maintain and keep track of that chore lol
1 j'aimeYep! Gotta multitask where you can lol

I’ve gotten into the habit of showering my plants in the sink when I have them out for watering… but what about the succulents? Do you shower those too? I wipe down my snake plants (I even vacuumed one recently), but I wouldn’t do that with succulents that have farina, like echeverias. Is it ok to get them wet, or should I skip those?
1 j'aimeHmmm, those are a bit more finicky, i just take a slightly damp cloth and wipe them down leaf by leaf gently, I’ve seen way too many horror photos of succulents that had water on them for too long lol. I know in the wild they probably get doused but I’m too sketched out to do it in the house where there is not all the desert air and winds
