Hi! My monstera started growing a new leaf about 4 weeks ago, and for about 3 weeks, the leaf looks ready to unfurl, but it hasn’t. I’ve tried moving it to somewhere with more light and I’ve misted it to see if it could unstick itself but I’ve had no luck! Has anyone got any other advice on whether this is normal/how to help it along, as everything seems to say it would take up to 3 weeks but we are a little past that now and I’m worried!

It needs more humidity to be able to unfurl, and I wouldn’t recommend misting since it can cause fungal infections on your plants. You can get a warm damp towel and run it over the leaf a few times which should help it unfurl.

I agree with what booksandplants said, (adding on to that) misting will also not retain moisture and humidity like a humidifier would.

Interesting 🤔 I have a monstera too and a new leaf is ready to unfurl but mine is self watering but I’ll keep a look out 👀
