Planta says my syngonium is a medium drinker, however, I have heard they like to dry out a bit. Can anyone give me a percentage of dryness in which this plant will optimally thrive? TIA!

I allow mine to mostly dry in between waterings.

How do you measure the moisture content in your syngonium… a stick, your finger, or a moisture meter, and what reading do you look for? If this sounds silly, I’m just trying to figure out my plant… 🙄!

I typically use a meter but for this plant, I use a stick bc it is in my office. I have wooden skewers that I insert to the bottom, leave them for a couple of minutes then check for any moisture or soil sticking. If neither, then it is dry. If I will be out a few days, I have watered when there is a little moisture and all was well. I won’t water if it hasn’t been at least a week. It all depends on your pot size, light level and how much water you use.
