i just got a tiny rose “bush,” i don’t have a deck or backyard so im going to try to keep her alive inside. i got a very big pot for her per the gardening expert’s recommendation. but i’m wondering if anyone has tips on how to keep indoor roses alive ?! i really don’t want to accidentally kill her, her name is petunia :)

I'm not sure about roses but usually that pot is wayyyy to big for the plant. Just an inch bigger then the root ball. But maybe roses are different then regular plants. I would downsize though..

they said because they normally are planted in the ground that it should have a pot 3x as big as the one it came in (it came in a 4.5in so i got a 12in). but i honestly have no clue how it works indoors so i just took their word for it!!

Was it because of the taproot that they recced the big pot? If so, the plant will likely focus energy on growing roots to fill out *that whole pot* before showing almost any progress above the soil. Be prepared to be super careful with watering and possibly have no blooms for a long time. To help with simulating outdoor conditions, depending on species etc, maybe try using rainwater whenever you can and giving it ‘seasons’.

A fan may be better to mimic wind and keep the branches strong, also discourage pests, but yes, if your home is very dry.
