I think [not a flower person here] it depends what you want! if you like the flowers leave them. if you want the plant to get busier, cut them. AGAIN, not a flower person here, I'm just putting two pieces of knowledge together lol

What is the reason for cutting off the flowers? They are beautiful and healthy. So, I’m confused. I also wonder if you addressed the shredded leaf edges. Do you think removing the flowers puts more energy into the rest of the plant? I can’t keep a begonia alive. So, I stopped buying them many years ago! 😄

The crispy leaf edges are because of dry air. I have two humidifiers running nearby and still having trouble getting above 50%. Mine seem to be adapting to the change, but was dealing with the dry leaves for a couple months.

yes i did think cutting the flowers would be beneficial because some other plants are like that but they are pretty so im gonna leave them since they are harmless!

Repotting disturbs and damages roots and it shows on the leaves/stems. Give it time to recover. It could take a month or more to see new leaves. The leaf edges won’t fix themselves. But, new healthy leaves will grow. Then, cut off the damaged leaves if you like. You need them for photosynthesis right now.

As far as I know about begonias, flowers are not really going to hurt them, so there’s no harm in letting them stay if you like them. Flowers for begonias are not a death knell like with bromeliads, nor do they require significant energy from the plant like alocasia. In fact, they seem to really want to flower, so if you deadhead them, that will encourage more blooms.

okay i’ll keep them thank you so much! as for the other person who commented about why i cut them it was because i have heard letting other plants flower can cause stunted growth so i got scared and cut them but clearly she wants to flower so ill leave it!
