Hello all! When you get a new plant, do you separate it from the others or keep it covered? I feel like they always do well while covered, then I uncover them and they suffer 😩

    I will change its soil, clean leaves, & do my own pest treatment, then separate it for 3+ days before adding it among the others!

    So what you are experiencing is called acclamation, and the bag is just providing more warmth and humidity (simulating a smaller scale greenhouse). However, it does prevent breathe ability which the plant also needs… So when you uncover them, exposing them to your house conditions (when humidity is much lower and the environment changes so much so fast, it kind of goes into shock. But if you tend to it and it receives enough light, it should become acclimated to the new environment in about 2-3 weeks👍🏼

    If I see that there are pests (got from a big box store- yes I throw it in the office). Otherwise- I pretty much immediately inspect it and repot it to add to my collection. Also always run it under water to knock anything off.
