Sooo what should be doing differently with this little guy?? Its petals are continuously drying up and falling off but it keeps growing just fine otherwise. Should I be putting it deeper in the soil so the stem isn’t exposed the way it is? This is how it was when I bought it so I just assumed that was how to plant it when I repotted it but it’s definitely odd looking for a succulent.

I think it is adorable. It does look a bit leggy which happens when succulents try to get more light or resources. You can trim it off about where you think it should go Put the top in a new pot and the bottom portion will likely propagate a whole new plant. Succulents are magical. There are lots of videos that are super helpful. I watched several I had a lot of leaf loss until I changed how I watered. Succulents like to be super dry and then drowned in water. That mimics their natural habitats, i used to just give them a tiny bit every week. I hope that helps you. Those things worked for me.

Chop that baby and leave some of the stem to be buried. You can use the same pot but change your soil. I’ve had to do this several times with a succulent that my cat loves to bite at…I also recently took a petal from it and just plopped it in the soil next to it and it sprouted pretty quick cuz it’s blooming season 🙌 Give lots of direct sunlight and it should be gucci ☺️ Hope that helps!! It’s a beautiful succulent btw, reminds me of opalite!

Thank you!! That’s what I was thinking to do but was scared to start chopping without some more opinions 🫡

It loves the light and what you have given it. If you want to keep it small do what they say. If you want it larger upside a couple inches with the pot and do what they say 🙂

This looks like a graptopatelum ghost plant. They grow this way naturally. More light won’t make any difference. It’s not etoliated. I have several plants that grow this way. They look best as a group. If you don’t like the look, as suggested, chop it off with some stem left on it. Plant in some high grit succulent soil. Add a little water to the soil at the base when the leaves start to wrinkle and feel rubbery. In about a month, it should have a new set of roots. When the roots are fully developed, you can use regular succulent care. Most plants in pic were done this way.

Similar idea here. Many start branching out before they get too tall.
