Hello! Any advise would be greatly appreciated - i’m going away for 2 weeks in August, and i need to somehow water my beloved house plants. My parents don’t live too close so i thought it would be unfair to ask them. Has anyone ever tried the drip feeds/watering tools? i’ve heard mixed reviews and unsure if they would last 2 weeks?? Thanks in advance :)

For only 2 weeks, I would just let them be until you get back. Water before you go (as long as the plant isn’t still wet from the last watering) and they should be fine. If it’s really hot where you are, I would move outdoor plants into a more shaded outdoor site while you’re gone. For indoor plants, using a shear shade or half closed blinds would work. Just don’t put anything in the dark. The goal is to reduce water consumption by reducing the photosynthesis trigger, but we don’t want to totally shock them in the dark for 2 weeks Are there any of your plants that you’re extra worried about?

I wouldn’t do anything to them. Unless you have porous pots or very high heat/sun they should be just fine.

Thanks both. Most of them are kept in a conservatory that does get very warm when in the sun..

Where I live summers can easily be 100+ F so last summer when gone two weeks we filled a large ice chest with water and put out water wicks to those that need regular summer watering. Several of my plants would not have survived without it, but it depends on how hot it is where you are and how often you’re needing to water. Summers here mean daily watering for some of my beebs, but it might not be like that for you 💚
