Hey guys. I have posted about this before but it’s getting worse and I can NOT loose this plant it’s very important to me. I got a kalanchoe mamorta that was originally in a window sill, teraocctta pot, quit large. The soil was just potting mix. I took it home and put it in a plastic drainage pot with the same exact size. (I hate how teracotta looks 😭) I gave it high drainage soil and put it on a shelf right by the window. It gets high light for a few hours, there’s no way it’s being burned, the room is about 68, there’s a heater near but none of my plants have an issue with it. I watered it to plantas schedule and randomly one day when I watered it. This happened. The leaves got thin, flimsy, and the tips turned yellow and paper thin. It dropped leaves. And eventually the yellow turns crispy. It got so bad I separated the plant into three plants. The roots look fine but are very short and few. Gave one no water, one lots and one fertilizer and see which improved. The drought is declining fast but the others are still doing horrid. Please help. I need a kalanchoe enthusiast.

hi! these guys are succulants and probably need more light than a few hours a day. you can either put them in a south facing window, or get some growlights off of amazon. in regards to following plantas scedule, you want to use the notifications as a reminder, as it will only be so accurate. water only when the soil is about halfway dry, or when the leaves start to droop and get flimsy. its strange that this happened after you watered, though. it could be that it was watered too soon, leading to overwatering symptoms, which would explain the yellowing leaves. i also recommend trying to find a smaller pot (1-2 inches bigger than the root ball) and using well draining soil. having them in a pot thats too big can cause root rot. the excess soil will hold onto water, leaving your plant to sit in a wet medium, which is not ideal for these guys. given that you said these plants dont have a ton of roots, i would try to find the smallest pot you have and put all three together. i hope this helps, and i wish u the best of luck for these important guys :)

Thank you so much!! You’re my savior. I put them under some grow lights and will get them a small pot. Should I remove any of the yellow leaves?

i think you could probably wait untill they fall off, as without them the plant wouldnt have very many leaves, which might hinder its ability to photosynthesize :)
