Probably a dumb question on spider plants - I recently purchased two and I’ve never owned one before. Are these all separate plants or one with multiple shoots? It looks like this on all sides for both plants. There’s one itty bitty guy in the center that I’m assuming is a baby.

From the photos, it looks like there are multiple spider plant pups (individual plants) growing in the same pot. Spider plants often grow new shoots from the base, but in your case, it looks like the nursery might have planted several pups together to create a fuller look. You could gently separate them if you’d like to repot them individually.

Thank you! I think I’m brave enough to separate a few

Separate them while they are young. Spider plants’ roots are thick fingers that intertwine. Some will get damaged when separated causing a few roots to yellow. 🪴🍀

Thank you for the tip! If some are matured and intertwined, is it okay to just leave them together or will they suffocate each other?

They won’t suffocate each other. They won’t get much bigger unless you repot to a larger pot. My two in the above photo are still in the same pots shown including the little ones in the 2 inch pot. (There are 4 tiny plants in the little pot and more in the 4 inch pot.). Both pots are over 2 years old. I just have to water more often and make sure the roots are not blocking drain holes. It’s easier to grow spider babies and plant them individually or in groups than to split up a pot.🪴🍀
