after having a spider plant for a long time and not realizing you can cut + propagate the baby spiderettes, my friend let them grow wild. it got a good haircut (she had 15-20 spiderettes), and i received 9 baby spider plants that i propagated in water and are ready for soil (i think). are they ready to be potted, and if yes, how should they be introduced to soil? how far apart should they be if i plant a few in the same pot? any info/tips about pot size, watering, etc are greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

after further inspection, i might throw the smallest ones back in water, as they don't have secondary roots yet.

You’ll need roughly 2 inches of roots to repot! They like to be a bit crowded so keep them close in a smaller pot at first!

They are ready for soil. Spider plants root well in both water and soil. Use a well draining potting mix with lots of perlite. 🪴🍀

I would pot most of the ones with longer roots I never really wait for secondary roots on more hardier plants especially when you have so many babies ☺️

Spider plants are VERY resilient. Mine continues to produce 3-5 babies every two weeks. After propagating in water for another 2 weeks, I plant them in 4 (2 together) to 6 inch (3 together) pots. However, my mother plant was potted alone, is one and a half years old, and thriving. So. Many. Babies.
