does anyone know what this spot is? last time i had it it kept spreading throughout the leaf. my alocasia also hasnt produced any new leaves and the soil takes longer to dry out

    It can probably be root rot have you checked?

      i checked the roots they seem fine for now but the soil is having difficulty drying out

      regular potting mix. i was wondering if i should downsize the pot size it keeps dropping leaves and mix in a tropical mix. but when i checked the root system is still seems ok

      Yeah! I would go an inch or 2 smaller and use a chunkier mix. I recommend Molly's Aroid Mix. I use it for all my tropicals and they love it!

    Not an aroid expert and I can’t really tell the real texture of it from the photos but look up edema/corky growths. (If it spreads, it’s likely not edema and is infectious, so your description of your previous incidence gives me pause.) solution would be repot in airier soil mix, and the diagnosis would be consistent with the lingering wetness of the soil.
