When you repot do you do a complete soil change and get all old soil from roots or just take it out, shake some off and plop it in new planter? I hear so many people that do complete soil changes... I never had a plant get stressed from repotting and I think that is because I don't do a complete soil change...
1 mi piaceI changed the soil but I didn’t completely get it all out of the roots. I just shook them off a little bit and added a soil with drainage. The soil that was already in there was pretty gross. It didn’t even feel real. So I decided to just change it out hopefully give it a better chance at surviving. I’m not very good with plant names, but the purple and green ones was all one plant and it was so rootbound that there wasn’t any dirt in it. So I broke it apart, made a couple of plants out of it and then put the rest of it back because I didn’t want to stress out the roots too much from pulling it apart.
0 Mi piaceI have never done a complete soil change either but this year, I have experienced that with a couple of plants. A Pothos and an Aglaonema
1 mi piaceAglaonema have recently caught my attention. I'm not allowed to buy any more plants though until I finalize a plan for my plant room. Lol I keep switching up my ideas of what I want to do lol
1 mi piaceMy husband will tease me, but he doesn’t say too much if I bring a new plant home I’ll. I haven’t learned all the names of the plants. I know a lot of the basic names like snake plant but I don’t know it’s real name. I don’t get into the scientific names. Just how to care for them and if I like them enough to take them home lol. My favorite though is a Monstera. I had him before I knew about them being whining plants so he’s kind of haphazardly everywhere. But he seems to be doing good.
