Hii! I got a lucky bamboo today! I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to grow these! Costa farms glued the pebbles together, do you guys experience with that? Do you guys take it off or keep it? 🥺

As long as you keep the leaves above water, these grow super well in aquariums, hydro/aquaponic, and semihyrdo. They like light but the leaves can burn if it’s too close to a strong light

If you put it in water definitely remove all the pebbles and any soil otherwise it can cause rot. Rot doesn’t come from water it comes from bacteria thriving in moisture

    Personally, I’d remove pebbles

I personally have 3 of these except they are in regular potting soil rather than pebbles. Just my personal advice, I’d remove the pebbles so you can pay more attention to the plant and its roots. Does the pot have drainage holes? So far I’ve had 0 issues with my 3 plants, even with moving at least once with them.

Mine is doing super well in water! She struggled so hard and nearly died when I had her in soil. After a couple months since putting her in a glass container with small, loose pebbles her root system is thriving and she’s putting out new shoots! I’ve given her a very watered down dose of fertilizer once since repot, and I top her water off every 7 to 10 days or if her roots are exposed. She’s loving a south facing window that is shaded by the roof overhang (no direct light on her). I recommend removing the soil and glue, then get a glass container, at least an inch or two wider on either side of the plant, and fill with clean, loose pebbles and water around the root system. It may need a little help staying upright for a week or two before the roots become enough to hold it up in the rocks. Water with distilled water to prevent hard water build up and mineral sensitivity. Place in indirect light. Good luck! I hope yours grows beautifully 💚
