My Thanksgiving cactus hasn't grown much since last year when I got it. And the ends look yellow/brownish. I have been thinking if I should cut it and propagate the healthy looking parts. But a few days ago I noticed some buds and new growth. I am wondering what I should do? Should I propagate or wait and see if it grows?

It is crocking which is the process of stem becoming a trunk to support heavier growth as it gets bigger. So it is a normal and common thing that occurs in many cacti and succulents.

Yes! Though I believe it is called “corking” in case you try to look it up!

After it's done flowering, it's very easy to propogate. This looks like a very healthy plant! It wouldn't hurt to fill out its pot more.

the brown is called corking and that is normal strengthening of the base. however, these grow very consistently and quickly with the right conditions. zygo cactus are poor communicators, but no growth when you’re expecting growth (over the spring and summer and even into the fall) can often indicate that you have a root problem (rot) — these are epiphytic plants, meaning they grow in nooks and crannies of trees and rocks, etc — so do best in really chunky and well/fast draining media. this plastic pot could be holding onto more water than your plant can use. New growth on these will always be lighter and sometimes a bit pinkish, so if you’re seeing that you’re in good shape
