I bought this huge mixed Monstera from CVS, but I am not sure if she needs to be repotted or if I should chop down some of the leaves??? It’s my first time having a Monstera and I received a couple comments from friends about the pot size/ overcrowding and about adding some sort of poles to aid in climbing If anyone can give me any tips, tricks or advice, it would be plenty helpful
Hard to tell from the picture but given the size, it likely has multiple stems in one pot for a full look. I suggest repotting it after giving it a short time to acclimate to your home. I waited to separate mine (newbie to monsteras myself) and it was a lot of intermingled roots to separate. It hurt me more than it hurt the plant I think. Now I have 3 pots and one cutting in water. But happy to be corrected for any details from those who have more experience ❤️

Agree with what you said. Definitely a good idea to leave it quarantined away from other plants to acclimate to the home. Then separate into multiple pots if that’s your preference. Some people enjoy the full look but either way get some support poles going on.

Yeah agreed. These full looking monsteras are always multiple plants - I ended up with 5 in mine in total, this looks like there’s possibly even more than that. I’d have a look on TikTok & instagram at people with plant info profiles, you should be able to see that monstera’s have a back & a front and actually aren’t really supposed to look this full. They also love some form of support! They’re fairly hardy plants, I’m even growing one in water now
