Not counting outdoor trees and perennials, my oldest plant is a phalaenopsis orchid named Mr. Speckles. I had almost forgotten him until he died, and since then he's been recovering steadily. He's finally getting to a point where he might bloom. I got him for my birthday; though I forget which year, it would've been 2023 or earlier. He's also the first orchid where I finally figured out proper care

My oldest is a tradescantia zebrina and itโ€™s a little over 2 1/2 years old. I was gushing over this pink plant I saw in my doctors office and asked the receptionist what it was. She told me the common name for it was offensive and she couldnโ€™t remember the scientific name lol. When I left, she had 6 cuttings waiting for me to take home. I never thought I was good with plants before, but when they took root and started growing I realized I could be! I currently have 20 plants which I found out is the maximum I can have at a time without being overwhelmed. Sheโ€™s given me several plant cuttings over the past couple years, sheโ€™s such a sweetheart and she got me into one of my favorite hobbies!
