What type of high quality soil do you recommend for tropical plants? I’ve looked at a couple options but I’m interested to see what you all think.

Ive found its cheaper to buy a large bag of potting soil at the store, then add whatever amendments you like. Leca, perlite, vermiculite, are all less than $10 for a quart bag on amazon that can pot several large plants.
