Anyone have advice for a fertilizer I can add to my plants that are in water?
No sorry but I hope you the best for your Planta
1 j'aimeAny liquid fertilizer will do! You just want to make sure you dilute it to 1/4 strength. I like the Grow Co organic indoor fertilizer— it’s highly concentrated and lasts forever. Very gentle. It stinks if you sniff the bottle lol but not after it’s been added to your plants
2 J'aimeI’m not sure if the original poster was asking about props or leca, but I have both questions. Can I use any old fertilizer for either? Like diluted Arbor Plant Food? I have several props about to be semi-hydro and the internet info is overwhelming. 😬
1 j'aimeYou don’t want to use organic fertilizers in hydroponics or semi hydro the water will get gross. I use foliagepro for semi hydro and soil.
2 J'aimeyou can use any liquid fertilizer in hydro or semi, you just want to be sure to dilute to 1/4 strength. the only way to prevent your water from becoming scummy is to keep it in a dark container. algae growth is generally harmless when it comes to hydro plants, however. for props make sure you use a tiiiiiny bit and only after roots have formed
2 J'aimeWe The Wild makes a liquid fertilizer and I add a few drops to my water propagations.
1 j'aimeI like foliagepro I fertilize every time I water with 1/4 the normal amount (5 drops in my 1 liter watering can) and use it with soil and semihydro it’s been working well.
2 J'aimei just wanted to pop in & say that not every liquid fertilizer is meant to be used for hydroponic growing. you can read the labels or google certain brands to make sure. a lot of fertilizers are meant to compliment the nutrients that are already in soil, or plants might not uptake some ferts correctly through water. i love FoliagePro by SuperThrive like botanista said. you can get it on amazon & you can use it with soil or hydro/semihydro plants. worth mentioning too that if you’ve just got fresh cutting propagations, they won’t need fertilizer until they have roots. but you can use a bit of the original SuperThrive formula for props; it’s not really a traditional fertilizer but more like a nutrient mix. i use it for all my plants with every water.
3 J'aimeThanks for all the advice I’ll try to research these a little
